Red Hot & Blue
The name Red Hot & Blue is taken from the title of DJ Dewey Phillip’s radio show that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950’s. This radio show introduced the world to Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists like B.B. King and Muddy Waters. Today, our restaurants feature these legends, as well as contemporary artists like John Mayer and Eric Clapton.
The atmosphere at Red Hot & Blue captures the essence of this timeless era with its hand picked blues memorabilia and the classic and current rhythm and blues tunes playing in the foreground. From the beginning, the barbecue had to be the highest quality, and authentic, using hickory logs, low temperature and long cooking times with only top quality meats and ingredients

I was quite thrilled to have RHB in Herndon - much closer than going to Leesburg. Our first experience in Herndon was great - a Thursday night, quiet, great service! Our second experience was a bit more on the awful side.
We went last Sunday which apparently coincided with a kids sports team having a party there. We waited for over an hour for our food... as did every other customer who came through the door until that party was taken care of. I guess the kitchen could not handle the crowd but that is not an excuse. You should only have enough seating for what you can handle.
Also, no one was really concerned about the fact that we had to sit that long for our food. We saw at least two families walk out - one had their food brought out as they were trying to leave. They just left the food on the table, untouched.
The whole experience was disconcerting. The staff was obviously stressed out and one girl looked ready to burst into tears.
If a manager or someone had offered free appetizers or free drinks or maybe a percentage off of our bill, I would not be leaving this comment; however, nothing was ever done to show regret for RHB's inability to handle our order in a timely fashion. We ended up taking our food to go and that alone was a 20 minute process in getting To Go boxes, cups and our check.
I love RHB but I would rather go to Leesburg than Herndon at this point.
